What are the benefits of Hemp Milk?

WHAT IS HEMP MILK

A plant based milk alternative made by simply blending water and seeds from the Hemp plant (cannabis sativa). You can also choose to sweeten it by adding maple syrup, honey, date syrup or other natural sweetener.


An excellent substitute for those with dairy or tree nut allergies, hemp milk can be used to replace cow’s milk in hot beverages, cereal, smoothies, baking or any other recipe that calls for milk. It is nutty like in terms of flavour and has a creamy consistency, but this all depends on how much water you use in the process, for example less water means a thicker creamier milk, or more water and the consistency will be like that of low fat milk, more watery.


WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HEMP MILK?

Hemp milk made only from Hemp seeds and water are a nutritional powerhouse, loaded with essential fatty acids, as well as all of the essential amino acids which the human body cannot produce naturally. Hemp seeds have the perfect ratio of essential amino acids and essential fatty acids the body requires.


Hemp milk contains a high level of fibre which can aid in healthy digestion and may reduce the risks of diabetes.


The nitric oxide produced by the arginine (which is an amino acid) found in hemp seeds is involved in a number of different functions in the body, it can aid in blood vessel relaxation where it dilates and relaxes the arteries, helping you to maintain healthy blood pressure, it helps the kidneys remove waste from your body, promotes hormone function and helps to maintain your immune system and it is also good for wound healing.


The omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in Hemp milk may boost your brain health, help reduce inflammation in your body and are a good source of Vitamin E, which helps boost immune function and aid in red blood cell formation.

*For a thinner milk add more water


INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup Sativa Botanicals Premium Hemp Hearts

3 cups cold water

1 and half Tbsp. maple syrup or other sweetener of your choice

DIRECTIONS

Place all ingredients into your blender and blend for 1 minute (blend 6 x 10 second increments)

Strain and store in fridge.
